Alice in Wonderland – Pinner Panto 2017

30th November 2017… the highly anticipated annual Pinner Panto was finally upon us. As the Mad Hatter says “We’re all mad here” – a truer statement could not have been made that night!

The days leading up to the 30th were filled with last minute colouring, snipping, sticking and painting as we put the finishing touches to our window display; Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatters Tea Party.

Towering teapots and tottering cups, blonde and brunette Alice’s with glasses and without, frantic white rabbits, colourful mushrooms, cheshire cats with toothy grins, mad hatters and Alice falling down the rabbit hole. A visual menagerie of all things Alice adorned our window, with card men guarding the entrance and the Queen of Hearts shouting “Off with their heads!”

Eyesey Eyecare was filled with rosy faced children, in from the cold decorating home-made cookies and having their photo taken in the Queen of Hearts castle. Rapunzel made her debut, singing the likes of George Michael’s Last Christmas, thrown together with a bit of Fleetwood Mac, and of course not forgetting the essentials from Trolls and Sing for the children.

Not quite sure who had more fun… the adults or the little ‘uns!!

Bridge Street typically tends to be quieter than the High Street, but working together with new Italian restaurant Osteria Modigliani and the new Lule Hair and Beauty was a great way to build the excitement in the run up to Christmas and entice Pinner families our way.

A huge thank you to Shelley Lyra Evans who was our beautiful singing Rapunzel and to Elaine Evans who made so many of our beautiful window decorations. And to Aiman Poptani, our multi-talented Optometrist and dessert maker who made the cookies.

How will we top this next year? Suggestions on a postcard please!!

Enjoy the festive season!
